The Power of Sharing is a science communication comic created by Francisco de la Mora, Ernesto Priego, Cristina Durán, Daniela Rocha and the Figshare team to highlight the importance of open research, data sharing and scientific collaboration. Produced in partnership with Figshare, the comic follows the journey of climate research from its creation and publication to its global reuse by researchers, demonstrating how openly shared data can accelerate scientific discovery and address complex global challenges such as climate change.
Through accessible visual storytelling, the comic illustrates the principles of open science, research dissemination and knowledge exchange, showing how collaborative research benefits both the scientific community and society. Combining comics, education and science communication, The Power of Sharing promotes the value of transparency, accessibility and international collaboration in research. The project demonstrates how comics can transform complex scientific concepts into engaging narratives that encourage public understanding of open access, research data management and the societal impact of scientific knowledge.
