Developed using autoethnographic and participatory narrative co-design methods, the comic combines personal testimony with visual storytelling to communicate complex health experiences in an accessible format.
Published as an open research output, it reflects the principles of open science and public engagement while contributing to ongoing work in graphic medicine, health communication and participatory research. The project demonstrates how comics can support empathy, knowledge exchange and the representation of lived experience in healthcare research.
By documenting the everyday realities of vulnerability during the pandemic, the comic highlights the value of co-created narratives for researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and the wider public, showcasing the potential of comics as powerful tools for inclusive research communication and public understanding.
